Curator of Lived Culture
Nicole Pollard is Program Coordinator at Philadelphia Contemporary. In the past she has worked as Curatorial Assistant for No Longer Empty, and an Exhibit Designer for Museum of Impact. She holds an MFA in Museum Exhibition Planning + Design from the University of the Arts and a BFA in Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. In her masters’ thesis, The Socially Engaged Contemporary Art Museum, she explored the ways in which socially engaged art projects can facilitate relationships between contemporary art museums and their immediate local communities. In the Fall of 2017 she was published in the American Alliance of Museum's National Association for Museum Exhibition's journal Exhibition. She is committed to investigating the role that the arts can play in igniting social change and facilitating community development, and believes that her involvement with community engagement at Philadelphia Contemporary can further continue that investigation.
